ZEUS-CAT 2001-2015   Leave a comment

I lost my beloved 14 year-old cat yesterday. She’s been sick so I took her to the vet and turned out she had cancer of the colon and the vet recommended she be put to sleep before she was in pain. I didn’t want her to suffer so I agreed. She is the second cat I’ve lost to cancer. My other cat, Bast, a Tortie died last year from mammary gland cancer when she was thirteen. Both cats made the six day journey from the Midwest to California two, almost three years ago with us. Zeus seemed to enjoy the journey and always explored the hotel room once we were settled and even slept on the bed with me. She was a mixture of Himalayan and Siamese and had the bone structure of a Himalayan with the face and eyes of a Siamese. She’s always had stomach issues and was diagnosed with IBD, inflammatory bowel disease. We had to buy special food for her because of it. She had that diva princess look down and let you know when she wasn’t happy about anything. She loved salmon and tuna and we found a wet food she could eat that she devoured. Even so she began to lose weight. She had an upper respiratory infection a couple of weeks ago and I thought she was losing weight because of that. She loved laps and to be warm (delicate Siamese constitution) and her favorite place to lay was either in the sun or next to the fireplace when it was on.

I will miss her.
