Celebrate the Small Things-June 12, 2015   1 comment

This has been a rough week for me. I came down with a flu-like virus on Tuesday and have been down with it since then.

  • I felt better last night and was able to eat dinner. I had moments during the day when I felt good. It didn’t last though. I’m not sure this is an actual celebration moment but at the time it seemed to be one.
  • I’m in the middle of rewriting the point-of-view of a young adult female pirate book I wrote. After getting feedback on it, I decided a change from third person to first person was needed. I’m about halfway done. It’s hard to change POV so once I’m done I’ll have to go over it a few more times to make sure it’s good.
  • The kitten (you knew I had to write about her, right?) has a new “thing.” She wants me to pick her up when I’m in the bathroom brushing my teeth and put her on the counter. She sits next to the sink and watches me in the mirror. So cute! Except yesterday she licked my toothbrush (well, it is a Hello Kitty toothbrush) and I had to get another one.
  • I’ve discovered a new way to dry my hair. I know, right? Shout out to author Emmie Mears for mentioning it.

It’s for wavy/curly hair and it’s called “plopping” or “plunking.” Oh, and a side note, don’t try and look it up on Urban Dictionary, you won’t be happy with what you find! Anyway-here’s one I watched. There are several. You can even get curls with it if your hair is straight. It made my hair less frizzy and the waves were nice except I didn’t use any product so they didn’t stay. It still looks like there are some waves today though.

And that’s it for my week. Here’s hoping you have a fantastic week coming up!
