Celebrate the Small Things-June 5, 2015   2 comments

Hello!

Hope everyone had a fantastic week.

My celebrations:

  • I finished my rewrite of my novel and sent it off to the agents who requested it. WOO HOO.
  • A new book idea came to me but I had to put it on hold so I could finish the current one. I did have to scrap the first chapter (not a celebration exactly but good).
  • My blog earned new followers–thank you for following me!
  • Being a judge in Query Kombat (it’s ongoing until July), a writing contest that started this week. I had a blast looking at all the entrees. It’s a lot harder than you might think to give constructive feedback.
  • I participated in a Facebook book release party for DIRTY BOYS OF SUMMER, an anthology of romance stories, four of them written by Seymour Agency authors! Fun! http://http://www.amazon.com/Dirty-Boys-Summer-Alphas-Billionaires-ebook/dp/B00W8Q8S4O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1433525364&sr=8-1&keywords=dirty+boys+of+summer
  • Although my entry didn’t make it into The Writer’s Voice, I still had a blast interacting with other writers on the hashtag. It’s one of my favorite parts of being in online contests!
  • My kitten is looking less like a kitten and more like a grown-up cat. She still plays like a kitten though and loves to watch “bird TV.” It’s amazing what you can find on YouTube. Video’s of birds on bird feeders fascinate the kitten. I have to sit with her on the floor because she gets so excited she jumps at the screen trying to get at the birdies, not all the time though. When she wants the TV on she looks at the blank screen then at me then back to the TV again. So adorable! She still doesn’t meow but yesterday she did a “merow” and we praised her. If we hadn’t heard her meowing in the car on the way home after we picked her up, we would think she didn’t know how. She’s a quiet little thing.

  1. What an adorable little baby! My cat is not that subtle, he will scream all day long, I think he likes to hear himself talk. But one of my dogs is like your cat, never barks, except when there is something really majorly wrong, and then she scares the other dogs, cause they are not used to it, lol. Nice blog, and what a great list!

  2. Yay for finishing your rewrite and getting it to your agent! It’s sad to scrap writing, especially a whole chapter, but sometimes it has to be done. Your cat looks adorable, and so funny about her and the TV! Have a great weekend!
